Coming up on December 4th is our last full moon of the year! This full moon has many nicknames such as the 'Cold Moon' given the cold temperatures of the season as well as the 'Long Nights Moon' as it occurs near the time of the Winter solstice, the longest night of the year. It is the last Super Moon of the 2025 year and will travel higher in the sky than any other full moon this year. Try and get out at night to give it a look! We certainly will be!

Things are warming up at Balarat, but we had some cold weeks this year! We’re looking ahead to next winter and working to make sure our incoming 5th graders have access to warm gloves during their cold Balarat trips, so that they can engage fully in all of the experiential learning that happens on our site. Our High School Leader program gives DPS students the opportunity to expand their leadership skills and get outside while providing our fifth graders with near peer mentorship! A win-win all around!
