Sean grew up in Denver and visited Balarat as a 5th grader as well as a high school leader. He’s worked with kids in the outdoors the past 5 years and has grown to love providing new experiences and teachable moments in an outdoor environment. His favorite thing about Balarat is the range of experiential education activities Balarat provides! Sean also had some awesome answers to our getting to know you questions!
What is your ideal sandwich?
Definitely a BLT with avocado and an over easy egg with a sriracha aioli.
What is your favorite quote?

Summer because I can do overnight backpacking trips and climb mountains

Meet the Staff! Jenny grew up in Arkansas and studied wildlife conservation at Arkansas State University. She spent several summers working as a camp counselor, a few years working in Maryland Park Service leading various programs for kids and adults and two seasons as an outdoor educator before joining Balarat in August 2025. If Jenny could have any pet animal, it would be a pet chipmunk named Squish. Her first concert was Hillary Duff in Little Rock in 2004. Jenny’s favorite way to recreate is by fishing and camping near the South Platte River in Colorado.

Meet Brendan - Brendan was born in Alexandria, VA where he grew up right outside of the sprawling metropolis of Washington D.C. Growing up, Brendan would explore Shenandoah National Park and spend a lot of time relaxing at the Delaware beaches. Brendan has done outdoor education work in a variety of different spots, but the Balarat foothills have certainly been breathtaking.
If he had a pet it would be a snake preferably a ball python named Calypso.
His First Concert was PINK at Capital One Arena.
His favorite place for outdoor education and recreation is Catalina Island in California.
